Maintaining the CPC and AIC Designations
You must
periodically maintain the title of "Associate
Constructor" or "Certified
Professional Constructor" once you have received your
certification. The actions you must take are described below, but the
commission will always inform you or pending deadlines for these
requirements.
The
continued certification requirements are:
-
Payment
of annual renewal fee.
-
Abiding
by the Constructor Code of Conduct.
-
Continuing
Professional Development
-
Annual
Submission of updated contact information.
Revocation
of a Designation
The
Commission retains the right to revoke any individual's certification
if it determines that the individual has failed to maintain the
certification in accordance with the established requirements described
above.
Grounds
for termination of certification include, but are not limited
to,
- falsification of the application or any
portion thereof;
- conviction of a felony;
- failure to comply with Continuing
Professional Development requirements;
- violation of the Constructor Code of
Conduct; and
- failure to pay the yearly renewal fee.
Notification
will be sent by the Commission to the individual whose termination is
being considered. The individual shall have a specified amount of time
to show good cause, in writing, to the Commission that the termination
is unwarranted or that the individual is correcting the deficiency that
is the basis for the termination. Thereafter, if the Commission
determines the termination should remain in force, the Commission will
request that any issued certificates and cards be returned to the
Commission. Failure to return the certificates and cards to the
Commission on request may subject the individual to legal action for
which the Commission will seek the reimbursement of its costs expended
in the action.
